When I was getting all the bits together to go to Stage 2+ I bought a lot of parts off here second hand including some Autotech internals. The car ran fine but eventually as I did not want to go to hybrid/big turbo route I looked at replacing some of the parts for better quality ones and opted for a Loba HPFP.
When Jeff at Pipewerx removed the Autotech there was quite a lot of nasty black fouling and the internals had to be cleaned up. I felt like I had changed them in time before any problems arose.
The last year the car misfired and coilpacks were changed to R8 ones. Then earlier this year the car began to misfire again and it was found the injector on cylinder 4 was playing up.
The car went in yesterday for all 4 injectors to be replaced with seal kits and fuel filter leaving me with a £1k bill.
All 4 injectors had some black/carbon deposits and he said the fuel line had some deposits. The only conclusion was that oil must have leaked into the fuel through the HPFP.
So far anyone who was not convinced about whether it is worth spending the extra to get an APR or Loba pump - my advice is dont skimp on the pump. If you want to build your own homemade CAI then go for it but the pump cannot be a compromise.
On the plus side when the manifold came off the inlet ports needed a good decoking and the difference with the injectors and decoke is amazing so far anyone who has not had a decoke yet of the inlet ports I would recommend getting it into your tuner and letting them have the car for the day as well worth it.
