Idle problems!
« on: October 09, 2015, 06:04:22 pm »
Evening people, don't know where to start here but to cut a long story short......

Started having a rough idle, I have the DSG mk5 just to make you aware, when I pull up at traffic lights or traffic for example, the car is jerking as a result of the idle up and down as if the engine is pulsating,

So new fuel filter
Major service at Volkswagen (notified me of a misfire)
Just fitted new bank of ignition coils

And still it's doing the same.

Also it's driving fine with full power, the issue only arises when I come to a standstill

I wish I could explain this better but I am not competent enough to do so!

Please help guys

have you checked the PCV valve? common issue with the GTI's and solved my idle issue

5 minute job not to difficult to do it yourself if thats what needs replacing.

would also recommend getting it scanned with VCDS before buying any parts

As above plus check the air filter housing for cracks caused when removing!

Know anywhere that cleans it all out?
Just hope it's not an injector otherwise it'll all be coming off again!
