CmdrFire's broken car
chungster:
You still made 230bhp so it's not losing serious boost pressure! Ur car is quite high mileage so I'd be looking at the turbo area, like actuator, exhaust housing, wategate port, manifold etc for a wee crack somewhere. Check the vacuum line for the forge dv too. Does ur defi boost gauge take the pressure from the forge thingy??
vRStu:
I think a couple of people with the earlier cars have had cracks form in the turbo housing.
You could also try fitting a new OEM DV in place of the forge.
All of this would be easier if you had some diagnostic software so as I an says perhaps passing it over to Jim & Keith for a couple of hours would be better.
cmdrfire:
Thanks Lee & Stu. The defi gauge is taking pressure from the forge multitap thing.
Cracks on the turbo housing are a bit worrying, Robin had that problem didn't he?
And whilst I'm here, other people without catch can have seen milky oily stuff on the oil cap in cold weather right?
oh: and happy Christmas!
vRStu:
I would say the was reasonably normal, especially if you do short trips.
chungster:
errr thats normally a sign of head gasket gone isn't it...mayo like crap on oil cap?
i topped my oil up earlier and it was NOT like that (or any previous cars), and I do plenty of short trips
sign of water mixing with oil Neo...not good.
