£336 for breakdown cover!? That's insane!

Mine is with Greenflag. Haven't needed/used it yet, but i have the recovery option to take me home rather than to the nearest garage, and it costs me just over £5 a month

That sounds like a lot, but as you don't mention if it's family/joint/home/recovery etc maybe that's what it costs these days. Since Tesco Clubcard vouchers are worth at least double when buying RAC breakdown that's what I've used for several years, still to have an actual breakdown though

Oh ye sorry guys, its for the following

Joint cover
roadside
relay
homestart

last year i paid £150

That price was crazy more than double what the new price is and as soon as i told them that on the phone they said they would match the price of 160 but not go lower

looking on quidco i can get the same cover for same price but with aprox £50 cashback

Yes, I have a chat every year and usually save a lot. Just look at the current offer from a "major competitor" and tell them that you are thinking of leaving.  They get you to sign a continuing renewal and they assume that many people wont shop around at renewal time so they just hike the premium in second and later years.
