HELP door stuck - NORTHERN IRELAND
« on: October 17, 2015, 08:22:56 am »
I have a bit of a problem.  My Mk5 rear doors are not behaving...one is locked shut and won't open; the other won't lock!  Also electric rear windows in both doors don't work (either from rear switches or from driver door controls).  To make matters worse, when trying to open the locked door from the inside handle, there was a loud crunch and something fell off inside the door meaning that the inside handle is no longer attached to the lock mechanism! There is no sound of the locks working in either rear door when you operate the key fob or the driver lock button on the front door.  Have checked fuses and the electrical connections in the door hinges - nothing obviously wrong but have a hunch this may be an electrical problem.

I have checked the forums and read all the articles about how you change the lock mechanisms etc BUT my problem is how to open the locked door in the first place!

Anyone any suggestions for reliable VW specialist in Northern Ireland (Belfast area) who might be able to help
