alarm help

my battery is playing up stopping the car from starting but need to know if my alarm will go off tonight as it gets to flat, if so how do I stop it??

help asap

More than likely it will go off yes.
Do you have VCDS to disable the siren temporarily?

But extreme to take the inner wing off and disconnect the siren if just for a night

can I not stop it by putting the key in and unlooking the door

If the battery drops to a low level, the sirens internal battery should kick in. All you can do is try.

Or park it unlocked in such a way it can't be taken and hope nobody snoops about it

its just been jumped started and taken out, filled up and it started again just isn't lasting so in a few days it will be dead is this likely to be battery or alternator the battery is 11 years old and being changed Wednesday but will it be anything else

You'd need to check with a multimeter really. See what the output is whilst running.

From what you say, 11 year old battery versus the start of frosty nights...there is the first thing I would look at.

Also be very careful jumpstarting the car, it can fry modules.

Sounds like the battery if it's starting now

I would change the battery first. If it's over 3 years old that is the most likely issue.

I wouldn't jump start a car ever again. I did it with mine and I had MAJOR problems afterwards with the electrics!
