How to disable the alarm??
« on: October 20, 2015, 03:25:51 pm »
Hey guys,

Got a problem with my alarm that keeps going off on its own. Sometimes if I lock the doors and arm the alarm, a few seconds later it goes off. Or lately it's been going off at like 2-3am waking up the whole street!

I do t know what's making it do it but is there any way to disable it? My neighbours will kill me off I don't sort it lol

I did notice though the other morning when I went out to the car when alarm was going off, I unlocked it and got in it and shut the door and there was a weird crackling sound coming from the speakers! It stopped after 30 seconds. Any ideas what could be happening?

Cheers
Craigh

Measuring blocks in VCDS will inform you of the recent activation triggers.

I replaced a couple of sirens in my mk5's - always down to failure of the siren backup battery itself, or the engine battery not holding charge
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

As mentioned, get a fault scan done and that'll give you almost all the info you need. To be honest, you'll find anyone posting how to disable alarms will have that post deleted as if you think about it, it's a way of advertising that your car is far easier to steal now the alarm won't go off. This is a public forum which means every man and his dog can use Google and find out about what we're talking about.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Ah I didn't think about that! Good point. Sorry guys

In terms of replacing the alarm I have not long had mine done. But will try find someone with VCDS to see what's happening.

Try disabling your ultrasonics (quick double press of lock on the fob or use the switch on the pillar behind drivers seat).

If your siren was replaced with a new one and not used, I would point at your battery if it just started with the colder nights.
But it could be a door sensor, ultrasonic sensor etc.
