The engine light stays off for 50 miles then the engine light comes back on, with the same code...

Would like to know a good place to start looking to find the problem !   :fighting:

I Was thinking the N80 valve and surrounding pipework... But without just replacing parts, what way can these be tested?

Thanks

Are you sure there's no leak in the system? That small hose that returns the gas vapours has a plastic connector to the canister, is it new as well?

Either a leak or an N80.

Easy way to see if the N80 is working would be to remove the pipe going from it to the charcoal can, run the car and you should be able to hear it working on idle, makes a pop/thumping noise a few times a second

Yes, i have checked it and all seems to be good.

This i will check,  :happy2:  Should it sound like a clicking noise ?

You could desribe as a clicking/ticking noise yes, you will hear the noise coming from the end of the pipe.

Describing sounds is not my forte  :happy2:

Had this issue too. I change the charcoal canister and code still appeard.
I check the N80 using vcds and could hear clicking. I didn't know what else to try so I brought a new one from eBay for cheap less than £15 and not had issues since  :happy2:

If you remove the pipe from the top of the charcoal canister, you should feel the air pulsations as well as hear them

As far as I know the N80 valves, can also cause a vacuum leak...

Had the same.  Had to replace the carbon can, the N80 and the line that goes from the carbon can to the tank vent connection near the brake fluid pot and the fault code disappeared.

Removed the N80 valve and was able to blow through it, replaced it with a new one and all seems good, so far...
