How are you dealing with these broken wires? My rear wiper stopped working this week, had a check of the wiring yesterday and mine is like yours, split and broken wires everywhere.

I'm just going to try and connect them all up with some crimp connectors or a block connector but have seen some replace the whole wiring loom, is this necessary? Also ripped the bloody grommet thing so going to have to replace this as well!

I've had this very same problem recently with the wiring. I first tried to repair the wires with crimp butt connectors but in truth they're very bulky and the wires are in a small space so caused more damage than I fixed.
The wiring on mine was in poor condition and fragile. In the end I changed the wiring loom. This comes with the rubber conduit as part of it and the wiring if a much higher quality so worth it I think.
If you are going to attempt to repair then I would say best solder then heat shrink due to the space they run through...

Well, i attempted to fix the broken rear wiper/ mash of cables yesterday and am fairly happy with the result.

The rear wiper is now working again but only when you spray the front windscreen first. Some swapping of wires didn't help the problem and after a couple of hours on this yesterday I gave up trying but i will have another go at the weekend.

Connections wise i'm happy though as they are all now neat and tidy. Taped it up until i can order a new grommet but because i've used bullet connectors on all the wires i'll be able to just pull them apart, slide them through the new grommet and connect them all back together!!

Will be interesting to see how the connections hold up under the stress of the boot opening and closing, i used bullet connectors as they should have a bit of play in them and if they do stretch, it should just be a case of pushing the connectors back together again!

With regards to it only working when u spray the windscreen have you checked the wiring with a multimeter?
I wrote this on another thread but could help you with this issue maybe:

Check the four pin connector that plugs into the motor with a multimeter.
There will be three white wires and one brown. Before testing you need to fool the car into thinking the boot is closed or it will not work. Do this by clicking the boot lock inwards twice, your dash screen will tell you if it thinks the boot is open.
The wires are numbered at the connector and you should have the following readings with the wiper switch off:
1- White wire - 12v
2 - White wire - 12v
3 - White wire - 12v
4 - Brown wire - Ground

Then when the switch is on:
1 - 12v
2 - ground
3 - ground
4 - ground

If you are not getting the correct reading on wire 1 then this will be controlled by a fuse in the board next to the steering wheel. It could also be a broken cable.

Wires 2 and 3 are controlled by the two relays. These are located under the steering wheel, accessed by pulling out the folding cubby hole. From memory they have the number 404 on them. They are on top of each other at the bottom right of the relay board.

Wire 4 is a straight forward ground cable.

If your problem is a broken cable it is highly likely to have broken under the rubber conduit as you look at the tailgate from the rear of the car on the left.

Another tip I can give you is that the same relays that control the rear motor also control the windscreen wash motor, if this is working it is not your relays that are causing the problem.
