Greenmans - Steel Grey Mk5 GTI
« on: October 27, 2015, 03:28:35 pm »
Hi all.

I wen't for a drive around some rural wiltshire lanes yesterday, stopped for some food in a nice pub i found and took some pics of the GTI...:)

Not brilliant qaulity as i can't be f*cked to sort the number plates out again!

Loving it how it is but plan to fit a BCS cat back soon, maybe some light tints, sort the stereo system (sub), and will probably add an ED30 front splitter.

I'm tempted to lower it but it's a practical every day car for me so don't want it too low and have to worry about killing the splitter!

I plan to buy something each month as i get paid and as it happens it's nearly the end of the month, which of that lot should i get first.......mmmmmmmmmmmmmm......?

Steel grey is the best man. Nice clean car. I've thought about getting the side skirts for mine and what they would look like in black. Still undecided. Any plans to paint them?

I'd be tempted with the tints  :happy2:

You know i hadn't even noticed that the bumpers were not colour coded.  I'm going to investigate how much they will cost to get sprayed locally.  Anyone done this before and have a rough price for spraying them.

Looking good mate.  Are those 18" Monza's?

I have just accepted delivery of an ed30 splitter from maxitrol (cheers dude) and am planning on getting it fitted and sprayed the same time as the side spats and rear bumper early dec, i will post pics in here when i have them sprayed.

First though, it's a BCS exhaust which is being fitted in two weeks.  Can't wait to wake my entire block of flats up in the morning as i leave for work...;)

Have also had a custom stage 1 from R-TECH, so running 268bhp and 334ft/lb torque now.  Such a good map.  Comparison in the chart to the previous bluefin i had on there.

Eibach sportlines going on next week, wind deflectors tomorrow, different front badge and clear front grills next month...;)

The difference it makes when you lower it is night and day

I mean looks wise rather than handling.

I probably only drive it flat out 25% of the time so i'm more into my styling mods these days...:)

I've heard the sportlines are close to OEM ride quality?

Either way they have been sitting in my room for 2 weeks now and are on next sat...:)

Eibach and H&R are probably the two best options for springs on standard shocks.

I'm on H&R and can't fault them, although it's been a tiny bit crashy at the back end over dips at low speed recently, but I'm putting that down to it getting a bit colder and the shocks and bushes not being as supple.

The oem shocks seem to be happy with a little drop most of the time anyway.

Looks cracking with the splitter and colour coding mate, grey is one of the best colours. Springs would be a nice edition to it!
