BCS Cat back - Prestige and Sports?
« on: October 27, 2015, 03:33:23 pm »
Hey all.

I am fancying a BCS cat back for my mk5 GTI and was wondering what the difference was between the sports and prestige systems.

I take it the prestige is quieter, resonated?

Am i right in saying i can speak to someone for a Forum discount?

Cheers all.

They are both 'resonated'... But the prestige system has a bigger front silencer.

Ive got a prestige and wouldnt want it any louder tbh... but then its horses for courses.

I went with the sports and even had the front silencer made smaller than standard spec.

It's still not as loud as I wanted it. Hopefully my decat downpipe will sort that out.

I have a full Powervalve Prestige system with sports cat. It screams enough for me. No need for more noise and driving normally it's like or even better than OEM. Couldn't be more satisfied.

Happy to give the technical spec on the two non Powervalve options available  :happy2:

Everyone's requirements can be accomodated usually... I think we have the largest possible number of varitions and options available for the GTi  :jumpmove:

I have a full sports powervalve system with 200cel cat, and couldn't ask for a better system. Subtle when it needs to be, loud when required! As has been said, it really depends what you want, but you can choose from different level of silencer options from Nige.

So the prestige is 3" all the way through and it's just a larger from silencer correct?

The silencer is larger but it's still loud when you want it to.

All of the systems are full 3.00" including the cat back systems, which have a removable step down adapter pipe so that upgrading to a full 3.00" system is possible.
The Prestige operates at the same performance rating as the Sport. The difference is the silencer diameter with the Prestige at 6.00" and the Sport at 5.00".
These options are available across the range for both Powervalve and non powervalve systems.
Cheers
Nige

@Powervalve Nige

Thanks for the explanation, prestige is the one for me then.
Majority of the time a stealth mod then when I get to drive all hell lets loose
