Working On Lowered Mk5's
« on: December 27, 2009, 10:19:45 pm »
You many chaps with lowered MK5's on aftermarket suspension, how do you do jack the car up easily?

I usually use a trolley jack to lift the front of the GTI before placing axle stands underneath, however it grazes and scrapes the splitter as it is. I plan a 35-40mm drop soon but this will mean jack access to the front will be limited for oil changes (which I do myself), even if I remove the splitter  :scared:.

What options are there on a sloped drive way?

Thanks.
Pete

Mine is lowered quite a bit and my trolley jack just squeezes under.  :happy2:

What you could do is buy yourself or make a mini ramp/ or block you can just drive onto giving you the extra inch or 2 to get the jack under.

Use the standard jack first and then when it is high enough use the trolley jack :happy2:
