Upgrading from RCD 300 to RCD 500
« on: October 28, 2015, 12:07:59 pm »
Hi, I want to upgrade my radio from a RCD 300 to RCD 500.

Am I required to do any additional coding in VCDS or is it just a plug and play job?

Should be plug&play if both cars have the same sound system.

I guess I should probably read the coding off my original stereo and copy this across to the new one then as the new one is from a Touran and I have no way of knowing if a soundpack was fitted to it etc.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, the coding of these units is very easy. You just need to add the numbers according to what VCDS explains. :happy2:
