True. It was one of the reasons that made me bite the bullet and go for a new system, they just looked untidy and let the car down.

I did consider the A4 tips like those above. But then I asked Nige if he'd do another group buy and the rest is history!

I reckon there's a few options to tidy things up on a budget. The push-on tips being one, and I'm sure it wouldn't be a big job to lop off the rusty ones and weld on some shiny new ones. I'd prefer the cut and weld approach myself, you'd probably be able to get a better fit against the valance.

I was actually thinking of going 80mm and getting as close to the valance as possible but not enough to knock and rattle.

AJP:
Yep, a nice close fit would be what I'd be going for. I'm a bit ocd with things like that. One downside to the A4 push-on tips (as much as they're still a big improvement over rusty ones) is that they will protrude further than the standard tips.

r5gtt:
If they were 80mm then I'd say it looks fine but from what I can see from the above picture of jayha11 gti they don't look too good poking out like that as there's a massive gap all around the valance.

molineux1980:
Autosol and a fine wire brush to clear what carbon I can. I'm sure there must be a better method!
