Hi, New member and new car! MK5 GOLF TDI GT
« on: November 02, 2015, 01:49:36 pm »
Hi guys.

Im new here and just saying hello! I just bought a 2009 Mk5 GT TDI GT 140 which I am absolutely over the moon with! Fantastic drive, smooth power and great spec! I have had 3 mk 2 golfs, mk3 vr6 and a corrado in the past and am definitely most at home in a VW.

Very similar to mine with the steel grey and Charleston alloys. I like the look of the 3 door. Mine is 5. What plans you got lined up?

Bin the mud flaps. They don't work and hide trapped mud which will be the death of your nice shiny sills  It'll give you a good excuse to clean under the wheel arch liners too :happy2:

Thanks for the welcome and the replies!

I don't have big plans for the car, it was actually a cost saving excersize buying it.

So far I've added a rns510, adding the 9w7 Bluetooth kit and want to retrofit a mfsw. Has any one had experience with retro Gti g mfsw? I know I need the wheel, air bag wiring and a steering wheel module but I don't know which module I need. Any one know a part number for the right one? Thanks

Also thanks for the tips on the mud flaps. Will do my best to clean under them!

I was going to add Gti side skirts as I think they would join the front and rear plastics but it looks quite involved with drilling etc

I know a lot of people who just glue the side skirts. No need to drill the car's body.

Ah ok cool. But then is there a way to revert back to original if needed?
