they look good mate BUT a gti with out the red grille stripe just aint right !!!!
Nope, any golf WITH a red stripe doesn't look right!

VW dropped it on the mk4 for a good reason, it was old fashioned. Like the old SRI's, XR3's etc of old, they all used to have red/blue/green stripes down the side and boy do they look dated now.
There seems to be this weird retro revival going on at the moment which I'm not a fan of. VW didn't need all these throw-backs to the mk1/mk2 (like the red stripe and tartan interior) to make the mk5 good. I like clean lines and modern smooth looks which is why I have full leather and got rid of the red grille stripe. My next move will be to paint the brake calipers body colour as I don't like the red on those either

At the end of the day, everyone has different tastes (which is good!) and I'm not in to retro.
