Because you're worrying about a non-existant problem.

I think what the OP is talking about is running the indicators at 100% brightness. I have heard that this can cause damage to the holders due to excessive heat. The indicator is not designed to be on all of the time. It will have a duty cycle of approx 50% (flashing) under the normal design intent.

If it helps I used to run my indicators at about 20% as US style DRL's. This was mostly because 100% looks crap and irritates other road users.

I think this is about 20%:

Headlights  would not effect the battery.
I never do more than 30% and even that's a bit high IMO.
If you run them at 100% you have bigger problems than bulb holders lol. You'll cause a crash!

What would be interesting to know is if there are any American owners on here with vcds that could tell us what the oem % is from factory,  then you could gauge an idea of the oem set up
Loads of extra's and retro fits.

I had depo's with US drl from the indicators for over 2 years. Sold the car, but it still has them. Never had a problem

That's a good enough answer for me then I will just how it goes. Did you have yours coded for xenon without shutters I just see that this has to be done when using these lights, I ain't coded mine

I have no idea tbh. It was xjay that did mine @ 30% brightness.
