Ramair Intercoolers
« on: November 03, 2015, 10:31:35 pm »
So, after having an interesting discussion with Ramair at VAG Tuner, it appears their new line of FMIC (specifically for the Mk5) will be retailing for £600 ish.

Who will be first to try one? Mmmmm. Watch this space.

I maintain until someone is going to actually do some PROPER flow tests, on a BENCH (not in a car) in a lab then they will all be about as good as each other..

Yep. And the Ramair item looked identical to the others too. But at a strong price point with all hoses necessary included, I even think they mentioned hard pipes.

Hasn't even arrived yet.

It's their own design, including hard pipes, all pipe work from the turbo to the inlet.

Peron is cheaper so not sure why youd bother going for any other one to be honest... especially one that might not have been tested.

all these replacement intercoolers are always going to struggle with the aircon rad in front of them and the radiator behind them it just gets way to much heat soak and the air flow is disrupted

just fit a proper front mount as it will out perform any replacement intercooler

admittedly i run meth as well but check the dark blue line out on this 4th gear pull that is my intake temp

when doing a 4th gear pull with meth with a replacement front mount my temps was climbing considerably

also the yellow straight line is timing pull / knock all 4 cylinders have zero  got to love an r-tech map  :driver:
