Tyre Recommendation - 17"
« on: November 11, 2015, 09:16:11 pm »
Hi all

Need a new set of tyres for my GTi with 17" monzas. Has anybody any recommendations for road use only. Has anybody tried Uniroyal Raninsport 3?

Thanks

Thanks for quick reply. Any suggestions on load rating? I know 91 is standard but some people seem to suggest 94.

91 is the normal but you can go to a 94 for the right tyre

Perfect, thanks. Only ask as I've read elsewhere that the sidewall on Uniroyals are thin.

Thanks again. Based on your recommendation for the Goodyear I think I'm going to go for them. £62.59 delivered fro tyre leader.

rainsport 3 are softer than most but grip is brilliant  Im on my 3rd set of 18x8x225 Get around 10000 miles before renewal  "camskill" are good for price
Something a bit better? Try contisport 3 :happy2:

I like eagle f1s too.

I hear good things about Michelin pilot sport 3s.

I love my eagle f1s, used to use RS2s on other cars but the 3 was just a bit soft and wore quickly on the front of the golf

I have the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asys 2 and I'm very satisfied with their overall quality (even with low tread they still performed really well on damped roads) and wear rate. I'm about to replace 2 with with +45k miles (mostly done on the rear axle). Couldn't ask for more.
