I'd check the gearbox mount as this is the weakest link.
Had this jerkiness kangaroo jumping with mine and now it's cured.

Any guides or pics of this mount mate or is it what people to refer to as the dog bone mount?

Hi, I don't have any guides or replacement procedures but it's fairly straight forward to replace. The link below if for the mk6 but exactly the same procedure.
You will need to remove the lower engine cover if applicable.
Have a jack to hand with a wooden block to hold the gearbox side raised when replacing the mounting and also releave any stress when undoing the bolts which should be too difficult to undo by hand once weight is on the jack.
