You can always take the plastic connectors off your current leads and just plug the leads in without the plastic house. I wrapped the first one in electrical tape to avoid interference... Worked at treat and saved me £7 (and more importantly the wait from eBay). The biggest problem you're going to face is the CAN Gateway being an older version which doesn't support this stereo. Essentially, the communication between the stereo and your car will be wrong and the stereo will never fully turn off, leading to a dead car due to battery drain over night.Odds are the version you've got is not compatible - get a VCDS scan of your car and look for your Gateway's version and compare with the ross-tech website.http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Navigation_System_(RNS510)_RetrofittingThis is a newer version that I bought (mine was 1K0-907-530-F, so needed updating):http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OEM-CAN-BUS-GATEWAY-CONTROL-UNIT-for-VW-RNS310-RCD510-RNS510-RNS315-7N0907530AN-/191085346455?hash=item2c7d92fe97:g:n50AAOSwu-BWPW~EThen you need to: Get a backup (screenshots will do!) of your current Gateway's installed modules list (this just details everything in your car that is running through your Gateway)Replace Gateway with newer versionUntick all installed items on the new one (as it probably came from a car which had different installed items) and tick all of the boxes that apply to your carJob is a goodun. You can buy pre-coded Gateways ( @Eddie-NL sells these ), where I presume he does all of the work of ticking the boxes for you.You may need to code the RNS 510 in as well.Any questions, let us know!Good luck.
I've got vcds lite and an old vag com cable, won't let me do what your asking, I guess I need the more expensive Ross tech stuff?
