I wish I had gone r-tech, as I had nothing but bother with my revo map, and revo hq were really unhelpful in resolving the problem

If you don't mind me asking, what went wrong and who did the mapping?
I spoke to Revo once regarding an issue I thought I had and they referred me back to the supplier, which in my case was fine as they're more than competent and understand what they're doing.

Their file was telling the throttle to close on gear shifts which was causing a power delay (dsg).

Same with you, they referred me back to the dealer, but after replacing mechatronics, coil packs etc, then telling me that I needed a dsg map to cure it proved that the dealer was and is not competent enough in what he was looking for when logging.

This went on for 9 months and revo hq offered a refund, albeit through the dealer, the dealer agreed at first, and then refused claiming that I have made them out to be a liar and the fact the car had been mapped 9 months previous, even though the fault was picked out right at the start

That's bad luck, a case of the Revo agent not knowing his backside from his elbow.
I realise that for Revo it's more practical for them to let their agents field these kind of problems, but it would be useful if they could vet their intended agents to determine competence. They are after all representatives for the brand, and in your case poor ones and thus damaging for them, or at least that's how they should see it. I personally think that they should have stepped in and solved your problem directly and then dealt with the agent once you were looked after, possibly even threatening to withdraw his status as supplier. I see your disappointment in the brand entirely.

I'm lucky in that JKM know their onions and they're local.

A lot of Revo dealers like that unfortunately.

I've heard nothing but good reviews from JKM, they seem to be decent Revo installers.

Personally I'd make the drive to R-Tech for the extra features you get from R-Tech and the price difference. Revo stage 1 k04 with an intake does that annoying flutter when it comes on boost. R-tech map around the K04's surge point so it doesn't flutter.

I have driven from Cheshire to JKM for a dyno day 3 times - the mileage doesn't bother me  - although Revo is great for people who don't enjoy a long drive
