Anything I can do about this??
« on: November 20, 2015, 09:51:57 am »
Hi guys,

One of the few flaws on my eddy and it's really bugging me.

Suggestions on how best to sort this?  Can you get replacements or perhaps pre-cut stickers?

Thanks.

A bodyshop wouldn't charge much to rectify that. It's only a small area, or you can have it wrapped?

Is it easy to remove or could would it have to be done in situ?

Was tempted to get a touch up stick but think I'd make a mess.

I found these on ebay but think it may be over kill and not look too good either:

Tbh buddy, I've never removed one of trims so I wouldn't know. I'd be tempted to go with them carbon fibre trims as your car is red and it has those dark pillar trims which it won't make a difference adding them.

Yeah, I'm just worried as those trims are stick on and look quite thick, it might not look right (or worse you could still see the chips from an angle).

If you wrap them or plastidip them you'll see the chips through them. If it was me I'd get them painted piano black at a bodyshop where they'll be able to knock them back and build them up with high build primer and they'll look brand new

Been quoted £120 to do both sides and also touch up a few other small bits around the car.

If those are the window trims for the rear quarter glass then they will need removing and a pita to do. so better off letting the local garage to do them unless your willing to strip it all out.

Think I might just put some gloss black touch up on them for now (and get them done in the new year properly) - or get those ebay covers.

The ebay covers are kind of thick  but will cover them up well.
I would get some cheap black wrap but only issue being it's difficult to cut to the exact size.

Might look a bit strange measuring someone's car.
