Fueling issues.
« on: December 30, 2009, 12:10:14 pm »
Hi Guys can anyone of you confirm, that if the VW technician updates my ECU it will just right over my Bluefin stage 1, he told me there has been issues when they have upgraded the ECU on chipped cars of the ECU's destoying themselves.
Regards

Simply tell the VW technician not to do anything with the ECU. If he does, it will overwrite the Bluefin. I haven't heard of "ECU's destroying themselves". I think that may just be a bit of scaremongering. :happy2:

Even if they do reflash it .... they shouldn't do any more than wipe off the Superchips map and put their latest version on.

It is, effectively, all you are doing if you put your car back to standard using the Bluefin device - it wipes the ECU and reflashes it with the new file.

It should have no effect other than meaning you would have to re read the new VW file, send it to Superchips and await their 'new' version to work with the new codes.
