Which IC do you use guys run?

I'm booked in for a stage 2+ and I was wondering should I get the one that are small and which use your existing IC or, do I get the one which replaces your actual big main one and sits before your AC rad etc.

The latest revision PERON cooler seems to be the most popular atm.

A lot of people opt for the S3 cooler (the earlier one with alloy end tanks) as its cheaper than most aftermarket ones.

I have the APR one which is expensive but seems to do a good job.  I would be happy to fit a PERON from what Ive seen.

So Mike, you recommend the big ones which replace the main cooler?

A fair few people have used the 'twint'ercooler in the past using a second front mount intercooler.

I bought my APR when I was flush (before I was married with a little one, dog and 2 cars to run lol).  I would happily run the Peron and THS coolers as they have been proven to perform.

@toosmiles  and @Jussa  have the Peron, Ive not come across anyone with the APR before.

Around Xmas time i should be able to make a rough comparison between the APR and Peron as I will be having my car mapped and it is identical spec to a mates car @Bignod00, like for like all but the cooler.  He has Peron, I have APR

Thanks buddy, I appreciate it.

I don't have much time lol, my car is booked in to Rtech for a map on the 10th of december, which is why I'm rushing into buying the required hardware.

Handy!

My aim is around 370ish hp, will a twintercooler be okay?

I've just had a quick peek on ebay and there seems to be some 'specials' for around £250-300 and they're the larger ones.  I just don't want to go over my £2k budget lol or else, I'll end up saying to myself 'oh you've spent £100, it's only another £900 away from another grand' which I dont want to do... :stupid:

@toosmiles getting one fitted yesterday on his modified Golf R...

Won't the rad infront cause airflow obstruction or is it okay like that?

I can't bring myself to put chinese copy stuff on my car, in some cases it may be upto the job but in so many cases it's much more restrictive than the branded items.  If it turns out to be rubbish it will cost you nearly twice as much in the end.

Im trying to think of someone at stage2+ with a twintercooler.

@vRSAlex and @rtechniki would be able to advise on which coolers work the best on the cars they've tuned (y)

Thats how so many of the well known tuned Tfsi's run, the Air con rad infant of that too!

I've removed my aircon rad to see if it gets more air flow to it but now I'm fitting water methanol it is probably irrelevant and just weight saving lol

just came across something interesting

http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,88939.30.html

If I can get hold of a named brand for £300ish, I may grab it. I'm just going through the classifieds to see if anything is available.
