Front wheels and braking discs
« on: November 21, 2015, 05:05:27 pm »
Hi all. Something strange is happening that I haven't noticed on some other cars. I have Golf 5 2005 1.9 and while driving if I release the throttle the front two wheels (discs) are king of bumping backwards for a second, something like chopping the whole smooth ride for a second. This is only happening while using engine braking, when releasing the throttle. Have some of you experienced this thing before?

That sounds like the front wishbone rear bushes being worn out to me.

It's not an easy task without the right tools that's for certain.
Pressing the bushes out is difficult but easier to push back in.
You may also need a blow torch to burn the outer plastic after cutting the inner rubber out.
I'd let a garage do it if your not mechanically minded not saying your not lol
Forgot to say that if you buy the complete bushes with housing them it'll be a lot easier. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-MK5-TDI-CADDY-SKODA-OCTAVIA-WISHBONE-BUSH-C623-/220656912349?nav=SEARCH

I recommend that you fit a set of these on as they'll last a lot longer than the oem ones and you'll get less movement and so far so good.
I'm a poly bush addict  :jumping:
If you pay for both sets from your ebay basket you'll get £2.90 off

Thanks

M
