275 total all in. Car reaches 90 and stays there pretty quickly now.

Mine was in today , getting it back tomorrow now due to needing a new rad aswell!
I've had a coolant leak for a while now, garage told me the rad was pretty much shot!
So more expense !! But now will have new thermostat, coolant and rad.

Well got the car back today .. For about 30mins everything was fine .. Then low oil pressure light and warning came on!!pulled straight over !  :surprised:
Had car recovered back to garage ... Suspect if might be the oil pump!!
Not to happy to say the least as its just cost me £480 and now this !
This car might have to go ...  :sad1:

Was that the recovery agents opinion as well - it seems just too coincidental or have you had any earlier warnings of oil pressure issues?

Car as just turned 97k had no issues before this with low oil level / pressure.
I'm hoping it may just be a problem with the oil pick up pipe.. Though I'm not holding much hope on this.
It is a strange coincident I'm now wishing in some ways I had left the thermostat as it was !!!

[/quote league isn't too bad. Hope it I'd thr oil pick up pipe although I never had to replace mine or clean it with the mk1 tt 225 many members did and many lost engines by not doing so as they didn't know what was going on and carried on driving to try get home.
I think I read another member having the same with his car after a thermostat change. I'll have to go on a search for it.

Good luck  :happy2:

I never had this problem with the tt as it used to get to operating temp within the 3.2 mile drive to work.
I'm guessing the inline ones have failed if dsg it has two and febi ones can be purchased for under £20 If they are too expensive from dealers or TPS.

I have a spare inline stat. I thought my car had two but it only had 1. You can have it for £15 if you want.

Think i paid 20 something.
