Im having a small issue with losing connectivity..

I have an 05 GTI with an updated can gateway for the purpose of having my RCD510 DAB installed. I've got the Fiscon all plugged in as it should be and it works great when i first plugged it in then so far down the line it would connect with my phone as usual except if i was to make or receive a call, the person could hear me but i could not hear their voice come through on my end.

Just to add i also have the MDI dock.

Just wondering what this could be as i've pulled the headhunt back out, unplugged the box from the unit and then plugged back in and put everything back as it works as it should then again, a few days or so long down the line, the same happens again.

If anyone could help me as to what could be causing this, i'd really appreciate it as I'm sick of having to take the HU in and out to unplug and plug back in again for it to work properly.

Interested too  Same 510 DAB with MDI in glove box FISCON BASIC + and overhead mic  Poor or no connection with personal and works phone (Samsung) Only thing Ive done apart from refitting checking is to upgrade to overhead mic (routed drivers side)

Annoying isn't it? at least I'm not the only one with this problem as i have the same mic too but i can't see it being that as the other person can hear me just fine but their voice does't come through on my end strangely..

I had something similar when I had my last Fiscon, Carl. If you are in a call with access to the cables by half,pulling out the stereo, very gently wiggle cables in the loom going into the HU, as I had a slack one. Once identified, I cable tied it up to keep it tensioned and it never happened again

Thanks buddy, I wiill have a look at the looms during the week sometime to see if i notice anything like that and report back later.

The male to female mini jack connections for the mic are notoriously unreliable; i've had the same problems and pull them apart, reconnect and seems to sort it.....

Thanks to you both. Will have a gander at both during the week and report back in a week or two to see if it has or hasn't fixed the problem.
