Fuel gauge not working, as well as temperature dropping!
« on: November 24, 2015, 09:03:23 am »
Hi there

I've been googling the above issue and can't find any actual answers which is annoying as it seems a common problem... But on occassion when I turn my car on in the morning (tends to be on noticably cold mornings) the fuel gauge reads as if I have no petrol and the temperature shows as something crazy like -22 degrees

Can anybody shed any light on this or had the same issue?  :sad1:

You could try removing the instrument cluster and refitting it - whilst it's out inspecting the connections on both the cluster and dash connector since it's a temperature related issue.
It's only two torx 20 screws and 10 minutes of your time there's a picture of what you'll see in this post http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,10027.0.html
