Autotech internals ..
« on: November 25, 2015, 06:51:10 pm »
Guys I need some help!!

Basically I let the lion garage install my autotech internals today and now I've got a massive problem. The car doesn't have any boost and on vagcom it keeps coming up with low fuel pressure. I have had it booked into TSR on Monday to have a look at it as the lion garage are putting it back to standard on Friday but will also be charging again. TSR seem to think that there's been a problem with the installation but the lion garage techie argues it has been done correctly. The car feels very slow and it feels like the turbo isn't boosting at all. Is there anyone local to Leicestershire that can give me a hand as TSR are 170 miles each way and lion garage want £70 to refit standard internals again and won't do until Friday.

Replacing the pump or upgrading its internals shouldn't give any problem. I'm running a LOBA pump with stock map and the car drives like before. The ECU doesn't have to compensate anything. Just waiting for a Stage 2+ remap.

Clearly something went wrong with them fitting the internals, not quite sure how they can claim anything else !. I bought a new loba pump for exactly this reason, although I think loads of people have fitted the internals without issue.

I'm going to try approaching them tomorrow and if that doesn't work, court proceedings through small claims court!!!

Hi mate

Looks like you've had S**t luck in your choice of garage , but if it was me I'd have waited until I approached the garage that fitted the parts before I'd posted the above letter , if they hold their hands up a sort it then no need to post if they don't then maybe you needed to hold back until after the court date just my opinion
know your fuming but deep breaths

good luck tomorrow

Rob

Obviously they've damaged the internals and now trying to cover it up as toss pots usually do.

I'm guesing you'll be taking them to court as they're not admitting liability and won't.

rhats just the engineers report buddy.

I under stand its a report , but its one engineers view of a problem he believes caused by another which you may have to prove in court ( hope you sort it before it gets that far ) I'm no lawyer but until proven it could be seen as damaging to the garage and possibly even considered liable if unproven as this is a public forum , I just would have held back until tomorrow

if you would like me to remove my posts just give me a shout and I will

No Rob you're okay buddy. It's just an engineer obviously has certain qualifications and degrees and their views or assumptions are based on experience and knowledge. I understand this may sabotage the garages name, but my car was 101% perfect before it went into the garage.

    Rob picture this buddy,
    • your car is perfect
    • you drop it off to a garage to have the pickup pipe changed just for a pre-caution measure and get them to do the hpfp internals as they say 'they can fit anything'
    • you pick the car up and the car doesn't boost or drive and takes 7seconds to fire and engine light comes but remember it was nothing like this when it went in
    • a second garage inspects it and discovers the part you had given to them to fit, has been damaged

Now you tell me what I've done wrong as I'm simply worried about what incompetent 'technicians' have done to my car

If you look on my build thread, you can clearly see the hpfp internals and me looking at it. I inspect all my parcels just incase of damage to contents whilst in transit. I did the very same to this and there wasn't anything wrong

They should have realized the engine wasn't running as it should and keep the car enough time to repair the damage. Mistakes happen, it's how companies deal with them that show if they're worthy of our trust. Good luck tomorrow. :happy2:
