H&R vs. Eibach lowering springs

After some advise and possibly pictures of your Golf's on these springs. Looking to buy either set in the next week. What's the comfort like on each of these, and which has the lowest drop? They both state around the 25-30mm mark iirc.

Mine on H&R 30mm springs.

I should mention I also have 10mm spacers on the front and 12mm on the rear so that brings the wheel out abit.

Comfort is good (just like stock) and I can clear all speed bumps.

There is a thread with a lot of picture of cars on both hr and eibach btw, so might be worth doing a search and having a look on there  :smiley:
That's what helped me make my decision and im glad I went with HR but had Eibach on my old golf and they were also good.

This is mine on the Eibachs (20/25mm). The H&R's usually sit lower but they look at the same on mine.

Ride was pretty harsh for the first few days (Mrs Lyons said she'd never drive it again) but it's softened and is 100% now.

Only cost £85 new too.

I previously had Eibach Sportlines and OEM dampers and I found the ride too harsh and bumpy.

Fitted H&R -30 mm and Koni Sport dampers and now the ride is so much better. Still a bit harsh over bigger pot holes or bumps but nice over small stuff and not too bumpy. It really drives well now. :happy2:

Just to add to this.. If your car has say 80K miles on or more.. Would it not be worth changing anything else on the original shocks for piece of mind sake or would you buy new OEM shocks or aftermarket shocks so you have a full fresh setup?

My car is on 59k so not overly worried by their condition. If I did however I'd go for OEM shocks again. All down to personal use though I guess but for what I want OEM is more than enough. I'll replace the front top mounts though, seems rude not to whilst it's all out for what they're worth.

OEM dumpers suck with lowering springs compared with Koni Sports or Bilstein B8.  :wink:

My Ed. 30 rides much better now with Koni Sports. I'm really happy with them.
