Mines a 2006 and as far as I no never been changed, but apart from service history there was no paper work with the car. Dont thing there is really a time to change but you will no if it does need changing. Im the 6th owner of mine.

how often does the chain need to be changed if its a 2006 year r32? and the car company selling told me it have had 9 owners now

With 9 previous owners I'd be concerned about correct servicing over it's lifetime. Personally, I'd avoid one with that many owners as I would draw the conclusion they haven't been able to afford to run/maintain it and have sold it on.

As I mentioned before, the chain 'should' last the life of the car, it's the other bits that wear. If the chain were to stretch then you'd get the EML coming on to indicate a problem.

I've read many posts on here about this piece of work but I can't recall seeing anything about the second half of the quote. Has anyone any advice over this? or the so-called buying guide checklist?
