Mines a manual and rattles and squeaks when pulling off or in wrong gear.

Mine only rattles when idling.

Where the 2 plastic fuel lines come into the engine bay left side near water expansion tank, give them either a slight push backwards and see if it stops

Thanks mate will give it a try.

Mine does exactly the same too.  Any idea what causes this anyone?

I would second this. Had the same problem on the GTI my gf just bought and the line had popped out the clip....20 second fix!

Still got the noise only in drive and foot is fully planted on the brake. Its very noticeable.

Cant see the fuel lines coming into the engine bay think there is a cover over them.

I don't think its the fuel lines too loud.

Here is a vid you can hear it start and stop as i select in and out of drive. (full volume needed)

Could this be down to the DMF?

Still think that's the plastic fuel lines ..try doing what I said under the bonnet , takes seconds fella  :happy2:

Follow the fuel stainless fuel lines on top of engine, and you will see 2 pipes appearing from around the water expansion bottle, one is the feed in pipe, the other the fuel return pipe which goes back to the fuel tank. Just give them a slight push and the noise Will stop. :happy2:
Gave the pipes a push still the same.

Anyone got any other ideas?

Is it worth taking the starter motor off to check the play in the DMF?
