Selling advice required please.
« on: December 13, 2015, 01:46:06 pm »
Firstly , just let me say this isn't a selling post , i'm just after some advice as to what you guys would suggest is my best way to proceed.
Unfortunately my very brief GTI ownership has to come to a very premature end due to a house move (4x4 required).
My car is a '2008 5 door GTI DSG' in grey , fsh , with 47500 miles on the clock. Nothing particularly remarkable in that from a sales point of view but it has a fair few performance mods. I'm not sure if I should remove them and sell them separately or try and sell it as is ( my preferred option).
The mods consist of :
'Bcs Powervalve' turbo back 200cell sport cat 'SPORT' exhaust system
                                 LOBA hpfp
                                 Air-tec Twn spec intercooler
                                 Neuspeed hi-flow intercooler pipe
                                 Ram -air oversized induction kit
                                 R-Tec stage 2+ map ( 286 bhp , 355 ft lbs torque)
                                 R-Tec DSG map

I know the bits , all new within the last 3 months , would be worth more sold separately but I have the hassle of returning it to standard , advertising , packaging and posting.
I have a couple of months before the move so I have time to return it back to standard if needs be.

So what do you think i should do ?

I'll be honest and say I wouldn't pay any extra on mods as these are optional as when selling my audi tt in September lost out 8k in total cost of buying and how much mods and expenses that I incurred I've a 5 year period. I just standardised it and got over 1k in mods and 2 k for the car for a 15 year old car wasn't bad after five years of loving it up and prices aren't great for those cars now.

I know this means nothing to you but maybe selling the mods off separately ie swopping parts off buyers may get you a good price overall???

I'd say de mod   :happy2: although car sounds nice and with 22k less than mine.

I paid over the odds £6850 in Jan 2015 and mine is a fully loaded gti dsg 18 in monza 67k at the time with full history barr the last one done by the traders private garage no t-belt  but dsg was serviced and a full oil air pollen fuel plugs change full black leather rain sensors climate 55 reg black 5 door which I wanted for family reasons NOT ed 30.

You mods will get you some decent cash back. loba hpfp exhaust to say the least.

Thanks

M

Back to as near stock as possible. Sell the parts and car separately
