Removing seats

Sorry dazz I thought that was a joke reply to preventing eletrocution! I know what you mean now, but Im wuite strong so managed to suspend the seat without touching the sides, like a big game of operation!

I have to ask, didn't your alarm go off at all when taking the negative off the battery? Mine goes off every time so I've had to make a lead up and connect a small 12v battery into the cigarette lighter socket

Nope. It was fine. Radio said it needed code, but then fluttered between nornal radio and asking for a code before settling on normal radio

vcds but not sure if it's the instruments you go into. or leave window open and set alarm wait I think is 30 seconds and then put your head or have in the car.

My alarm was in pieces when i got my car, bought a second hand one from ebay £10. Remove drivers side wheel arch liner and there is a metal box which contains the alarm you will need to drill out two rivets to get at it. If you plan to rivet it back on you will need a couple of big rivets and a decent rivet gun.

That's a design from vw yet again with they're many other designs.
Now I have to drill it out and rivet the box back up

I'm guessing like the tt one but less headache to remove and again the internal batteries had leaked the acid all over the pcb  frazzling it. They are cheap enough but I was thinking buy a new one and maybe relocate it into the engine bay without the box???.

Now I have to drill it out and rivet the box back up

I'm guessing like the tt one but less headache to remove and again the internal batteries had leaked the acid all over the pcb  frazzling it. They are cheap enough but I was thinking buy a new one and maybe relocate it into the engine bay without the box???.

You could replace the rivets with bolts just incase it has to come out again.

I might just relocate it to the bay and forget the box as a few years down the line it'll start all over again with melting he pcb as mentioned.
