I have a 2.0 tdi 170 (BMN) engine and just wanting to know if a cat back exhaust , say a milltek or cobra would make any difference in sound or would I need to do a dpf delete and a catback to get a decent sound?

If you spend the money on a decent map you'll soon forget about cat backs good sounds etc

With the DPF in place it will sound mostly standard.
Deleteing the DPF will give you a nice-ish noise even with the standard cat back section.
Mine sounded like this on the stock turbo with DPF and Eurojet 3 inch rear section that Alex made up for me.
