You can bridge the connection between the two bulb holders, filament bulbs will give a bulb out error, so you could use led bulbs or just turn the bulb out warning off in VCDS.

Iv been working on quad lights for MK5 Golf for years and getting to a point where I am happy with it. For the people that know me on the forum and follow me on YouTube you'll know I'm kinda fussy   :signLOL:. Part of my quad light solution is full circle braking and can be seen here on my build thread - http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=69555.45 if anyone wants to have a look.
When figuring out the full circle braking I tried all sorts to come up with a solution and found using the ideas from the OZ link above the resistance in the circuit was not ideal and a possible heat/fire risk when using filament builds so moved onto LED bulb replacements. When I tried to use a resistor to trick the system I into thinking it's still got all its bulbs the resistor got (imvho) unacceptably hot. My end solution provides full circle brakes but involved relocating the normal brake bulb so the system "sees" all bulbs. I have supplied @maxitrol this solution and he seems happy with it  :happy2:
My solution REQUIRES LED bulbs and needs 6 of them. I have tested multiple bulbs and the only ones that cut the mustard are bold spot or @v4rley 's equivalent. The other cheap and nasty ones get way too hot and burn out really quick.
I am confident that my full circle solution will not through a bulb out error or cause excessive heat and associated risks.
I am not keen to make it public knowledge how I did it as the chance of really messing things up is high but I am happy to do the conversion for people if wanted - for a small fee of course  :happy2:

Thank you gents  :happy2:

I'll have a read later as ive just got to Birmingham so my sisters house is full of family.

I'm going to do this as my tt was also double lights and brake light modded by me with the help of mk2 golf cluster parta and the tt forum.

I just love the look of your lights MateyGuv
Just need to know what bulbs if there isn't a link lol

Thanks

@MateyGuv you've been through the wars on this one  :surprised: led bulbs no rings?. looks like extra bulbs also fitted but not sure why.  something about error on dash.

@r5gtt not been through the wars but not been happy with the result so kept going  :signLOL:  I'm a little OCD about my cars so keep thinking of solutions till I think they are good enough.
The bulbs are relocated to stop the bulb out warnings as no one has been successful in coding out the bulb out warning system reliably - anyone reading this who knows of a way please enlighten me as it would make the quad mod and/or the full circle braking lights a fair bit cheaper to do  :popcornsoda:

@MateyGuv

I thought thats what you did with the bulbs but wasnt sure 100% but looks like you hid the bulbs out of the way.

I wish I knew how to but unfortunately can't help with the error coding out.

I've ordered a pair of inner lights and going to try this out myself as I'm confident I'll get a decent result but if the error light does come on then we'll have to see what I can do to over come this.

First attempt to try and open the light gently but failed  :sad1:
Didn't come off clean and cracked it too.

Here's how not to tint your rear lights  :rolleye:
Just did a quicky tbh as this is the above cracked lense.
If you do, make sure to scotch pad the whole lense as the paint will drip off and react  :surprised:

To tint it you should spray the silver part inside the light black that will give the same effect as ed30/r32

Only problem there is it will take a lot of effort to scotch those inners as I tried to paint straight on top of it  :stupid:

So just spray the silver and leave the rest as is?.

Here's the almost dried muck up  :signLOL:
