Any skateboarders on here?
« on: December 26, 2015, 03:15:53 pm »
The kids wanted skateboards for christmas so bought a couple from a local sport shop.

They are pants, they don't turn well and one pulls to one side.

Can anyone recommend a good board for 6 year olds? One needs to be girly. I don't mind buying the bits and building my own but have no idea whats what and will probably end up spending way too much.

Loosen the trucks. If they are too stiff they wont turn well.

The kids picked their own boards. Should have done some research first.

They actually looked much better than my first board (which was great).

I know nothing about skateboards. But Decathlon stuff is usually pretty good. Hopefully some tweaking well sort it for them.

I think i enjoyed skateboarding more than them although i'm way to heavy for the kids boards.

I may get myself a board    :scared: and see if the kids get on any better with that.

It would be silly to upgrade their boards for them not to get used. Definitely a better option to get yourself a new one for them to try first. Think if ur as protecting your investment.

Don't loosen them too much, if it all! Also depending on the trucks there should be one central bolt to loosen, not the corner four bolts. New trucks are always stiff to turn, they take wearing in

In the middle of the trucks is the bolt called a kingpin and that when tight will have super tight hard to turn but make them loose and you can turn as you would on a snow board. There are 2 rubber things called bushings. If they solid rock hard then not matter how loose the trucks are they will steer the way it wants to... I would buy a cheapy but if the kids get into it then proper boards and gear is a must
