New Battery
« on: December 26, 2015, 09:35:07 am »
Over the last couple of months the battery in my car has been flat on 3 occasions (most recently yesterday!), so I'm going to purchase a new 1 in the hope that it is the problem, and there's not something draining it.

What make of battery is a good 1 to go for? It's something I've never had to buy before. What size too?

Does anyone know if this is the original that would've come in an 07 GTi?

That's definitely the original, I got 10 years out of mine. Replaced it with a Varta E44 2 days ago

As much as it pains me to say it I've done well out of halfords batteries. Had a few cars that came with them and just put one in my Jetta.

Battery is a battery imo.

What was the name of the seller and how did you manage to get the cash back?

252223188704, I'd avoid Tayna batteries after they didn't bother to deliver it and I got my money back.

I was going to get mine from them.  I'm on the original battery and it will probably need changing sooner rather than later as it starts up a little lazy when it's cold.

I ordered my Varta E44 from them and it came the next day. Great service.

The E44 was under £70 and is an exact fit for the GTI (higher specs than the original too!).

Another vote for Tayna batteries here. Ordered Varta E44 and delivered next day.
