DSG slow to change gears

Booked in for the 7th. Happening again today, also after about 2 mins of driving my tyre pressure, abs and Esp light came on. Pulled over, restarted car and they went. Im wondering if these issues have started since I disconnected the battery the other week.

After checking your tyre pressures you might want to check the abs sensors.
You really need to get yourself vcds and save some money on garage fees.

My uncles got it and I use it everynow and again. Is it right that the software is free? Might download it on my laptop and just borrow his cable. Think it may be a knock off though, works fine.

as long as you get the correct software it'll be fine 

I had a Chinese knock off for 5 years. 

You'll need to go into abs control module on vcds as I think but can't remember now. go to the measuring blocks and a scroll up with numbers and you should see the abs left right etc.

Doing it quite regularly now  having to resort to switching the gears manually

When was the last time your DSG from serviced ? New Oil and Filter ? in miles?

earlier half of last year. about 8000 miles ago.

when was the box last serviced? always worth getting it to the right temp and checking the oil level

What would happen if it were clutch packs? Expensive? Diyable?

Would a good specialist be able to determine it was the clutch packs?

Clutch packs are expensive. Not really common on the golf as the ford focus 2011+ plates and it's a beech to replace. Focus clutches start to slip and customers have brought them in for checking so removal is a must although we can also check via ford diagnostics.

Yes someone with dsg knowledge will be able to tell you this.

So back from vw audi tec in chelmsford today. Good specialist, reccomend them. They took it for a test drive and scanned it which showed an abs fault on the rear left wheel. They then span the wheel and read live data and the data was going mad. If its the sensor thats faulty, the data tends to stay in one place. If its the abs strip corroded then the data goes mad, which mine did.

Is it possible the rear wheels will affect the speed recorded, thus throwing the dsg? I assumed it was only front.

I have the car booked in on monday 19th for wheel bearing replacement and service, although im thinking I might do the wheel bearing myself if its not too challenging. Although im under the impression a whole new hub is needed as the hub has the bearing built in. Vwauditec did all this for free :) good to talk to and know their stuff
