Stick with the mk6 mate, it's just as sporty looking as the mk5 to me. I actually find the mk7 R a little bland visually, and I see so many on the road (majority leased). Mk5/6/7 GTIs though seem much less common round my way.

its greed haha! i had a 1.4 no turbo before this. This was a beautiful step up and you just want more more more!!!

Round my way (Newcastle) all you see is mk7 Rs and GTD's. I have only ever seen throughout the country in flesh a handful or mk6 gtis even the mk5's...  Mk7s GTIs are rare up here too. such a shame about the mk7 r early lease deals. means the market will be flooded soon!

Yep, loaadddds of GTDs too. And you can just tell when you drive past and they don't give your car even the slightest glance that there isn't an enthusiast behind the wheel.

haha yeah I know! i think fair few are just company cars of people who dont give a dam! but some will be enthusiasts who will be thinking dam i wish i picked the GTI. (especially when it wizzes past  )

Get a better downpipe and you can get a lot more. A friend with a decat and a strait exhaust reached 290 HP but it was too loud for my taste.
