I know people aren't going to be haply with my choice but I feel it's right and FB seems to be on my side as a lot of guys are saying cars are running high bhp with them. Just replace cam follower every service for piece of mind to avoid failure of it.

Both of you are correct but I've read good things about Vis and want to give this a shot as what he says sounds honest enough for me to purchase his hpfp.
Remembering he's had loba auto tech and the like in his drag motor and they've all failed.

I'm at work but check out tfsi tuning on FB bro they've replied to a question on a post I made regarding VIS   :happy2:.

I feel it's right to do this and will update on progress as you know.  :P

You mean the one single topic on TFSI Tuning where about 3 people have said that they are ok, including you, and 1 person has said their pump failed within 10k KM? And it seems to be only you fighting their corner having asked the guy a few questions last night and him come back with typical sales talk?  :P :signLOL: (Facebook search actually works nowadays  :grin:)

Same risk as the autotech or any other internals. On a K03 or K04 application, ANY of the HPFP or internals will be up to the job

It only feels right because it's the cheapest out there

maybe a stab in the dark but the TSI engines dont have these hpfp issues. does about know know if its possible to fit a mk5 fp to a mk5?

So you can go stage 2/2+ without upgrading HPFP on a tsi? I doubt they're interchangeable. My mates scirocco tsi HPFP looks very different from mine from memory

Not read your build thread so not sure if your going BT/Hyprid but buying a pump from Billy no mates on tinterweb is a risk. If your Spanking £350 it's not a big jump to get a LOBA?

hence why im going straight k04 or tte420, havent decided yet.

From everything I've learned (I've read lots about this), the internals of the likes of Autotech are fine in principle, but the fact they then have to be installed into your existing pump adds a variable into the equation. If the install isn't perfect for whatever reason, the pump can be prone to failure. I think I've read that the APR and Loba pumps are built in ridiculously clinical conditions, to exacting standards. This ensures their reliability.

So, R5. What are your plans for rebuilding your current pump with these internals? DIY? I'm not knocking your ability, and I know you're handy with a spanner. But look at the risk to reward ratio. The risk is relatively high, especially considering the VIS internals don't appear any way proven. They're more of an unknown than even Autotech. Worst case scenario is that it fails, screws the follower, knackers the cam, and you're looking at a very poorly car and a big bill. The reward, is a saving of 150 quid or so.

I've got to agree with MC71 here. If you're willing to pay 350 quid, just be patient until you can add another 150 to that and get a proven solution.

The advice against these internals as a whole (facebook + this forum) is overwhelming. You really shouldn't ignore that.
