Don't you mean harsh changes?
Yeah that's a more accurate way of describing it, almost like it's snatching the gears. But like I said only happens when accelerating hard and usually only in manual mode.

I will do mate its just so frustrating when these things are never simple!

What I cant get my head round is why the garage is suggesting a reset instead of checking the wire and/or connector of the sensor. I'm guessing its because the fault didn't come up the second time.

Just a quick update...just had the DSG reset to basic settings (as well as a full service which was due) and problem seems to have been resolved. Back to my silky smooth gear changes! :happy2:

That's good.

Just keep an eye on it as sometimes codes don't come back straight away. Fingers crossed tho

I will do. the code didn't come back so that's why I went for the reset.

Does yours still appear?

Well I used to reset mine and go for a drive and didn't appear even when I scanned after 20 mins or so of driving about.

But if I scanned say a few days later it was back there. That's why it doesn't bother me that much as car drives fine and must just be a small niggle for now.

Well i hope it stays that way.

I didn't really have much hope for a DSG reset to be honest.

Well you had an oil change in it so maybe that's helped as could have been contaminated oil or something which doesn't help. Let us know if the code stays away or comes back.

My last car was showing this fault, but all of a sudden it just switched off one day.

No luck on the lottery unfortunately.

To be honest it was playing up slightly earlier tonight. Now I'm thinking it's the way I'm driving it!

Could this simply be caused by changing too early with full throttle? E.g. In manual mode in 3rd, foot to floor and then change to 4th at say 2500rpm? This doesn't happen if I change further into the rev range.

Shame you could of had a 500bhp motor sitting outside your house on Monday afternoon

I drive mine like a Sunday driver at times so maybe give it a few days and then decide what you think.
