its pretty easy when you know how.. ive had my system in and out more times then my gf haha!

the hardest part is running the wire through the firewall grommet. which is just behind the battery.

right please note that i have a dash tray and no pollen filter and its all from memory!

power cable
tools requiered
  • 10mm socket
  • stiff cable (feeler cable)
  • cutters

1. take battery + cover out (makes things much easier trust me)
2. feel around behind it and there will be a rubber grommet
3. the most disturbing bit, make a hole in the grommet making sure to avoid tearing the wires
4. get in your passenger side footwell and pull back the carpet.
#hint: i rolled my seat the furthest back and flattened it
5. get a long stiff cable and tie one end of your power cable to it making sure that the fuse is IN the engine bay
6. poke the free end of the stiff cable in the hole you made for the grommet (dont think dirty thoughts) and feed about half of the cable through
7. get back into your passenger footwell and reach up for the cable
8. when you find it pull gently until you feel the power cable come through
#i fed the cable under the seat close to the side of the car.. i think ill need pictures to show you how i did it tbh
9. when you have fed the cable to the rear seats take the bottom of the seats out.
10. to do that pull the seat up near the edge, and then push it towards the rear of the car and up. (out of memory)
11. now pull the power cable from the side and feed it where the bench would be and through the upper seats.

getting behind the headunit
Tools Required
  • T20 torx bit
  • flathead screw driver

# it was easier for my to do this in the passenger seat

1. take the rubber tray out of the dash tray
2. unscrew the 2 torx screws
3. from the front pull the dash tray up and out
4. under this there will be 2 more torx screws
5. pull the end thats closest to the front of the car up and then where the join is on the front of the dashboard get the flat head, push it in the gap and twist carefully
(i think i need pics for that bit)
6. unplug the hazard light and the airbag light (if you didnt take the battery out then you should before this part or you`ll throw a code for the airbag!! learnt from experience..)
7. there will be 2 more visible torx screws that need unscrewing
8. take the facia off careful not to pull the metal tabs off
9.there will be 4 more screws behind this holding the stock head unit in.
10. wire up your remote and RCAs

feeding the remote and the RCA/Phono cables
Tools Required
  • T20 torx bit
  • flathead screw driver

1. lift up the panal surrounding the gearknob, starting on the top left and right corners with your screwdriver. again being careful not to scratch or bend the plastic
2. there will be 2 visible torx screws, take these out and lift out that panel being careful.
3. unplug your cigarette lighter and ESP button.
4. feed your hand through and pull the RCA and remote cables down
5. on the handbrake cable pull out the rubber covers and there will be one torx screw in the pencil holder bit and 2 more in the cup holder
6. take this piece off by pulling your handbrake as high as you can and feeding it out
7. feed the cables through.
8. now feed the cables under the carpet to where the rear seats should be.

Ground Cable

Tools needed

  • 10mm bolt
  • 10mm socket

1. feed the cable under the seats
2. where the bench would be there is a "upside down screw" thats part of the chassis
3. scratch the paint around the base off
4. put your cable end on that and screw the bolt in

right thats my write up. i think i covered everything you need..
unfortunatly my dad broke down tonight which is why im replying this last in the night and hes nicking my car so i wont be able to do the pictures until a few days..
hope i helped! and ill pm you my number if you get stuck give me a bell!

Cheers benny , after having a look around , i decide just to use the grommit under the scuttle pannel and have the wires running down the sides under the trim (dont fancy running it under the carpet lol ) , anyways thats the power cable out the road just have to see what headunit i want then run the remote and rca's to the back  :xmaslaugh:
