Hi Fellow Mk5-ers
Happy New Year to you all.
I'm in need of someone who specialises in repairing ABS units (not just fit repair kits). The background:
So I've had an intermittent warning light come on every few weeks or so (the ABS+TC+handbrake trio). Finally managed to catch it while the error was still "live" in the system (it reset once you switched the ignition off) and it reported:

So! I took it down to my excellent local independent specialist: VW Audi in Bradford on Avon, and our course of action was to order a repair kit and replace the module.
Except that it turns out *my* GTI's control module isn't a BOSCH but a French manufacturer. It is part of the build of my car, but not the same component as the BOSCH ones. Independent garage was told by the Bath VW (where he got the repair kit from) that there is no repair kit for the French component and that the entire ABS (module + pump) will need to be replaced. So it turns out (also according to my independent) that only VW can do a full replacement as they won't release the codes to carry this out.
I'm facing a ~£1000 cost for VW to replace my ABS *unless* someone knows of anywhere that can service/repair these French ABS units. Does anyone know of anywhere please??? I'm going to leave it a month and then I'll book in with VW as I want it sorted out really, but it gives me some time to find an alternative plan.
Cheers!
