« on: January 19, 2016, 01:06:32 pm »
Hey Guys I have a broken Aux heater Z35 in my 2005 GolfsportTDI Can anyone confirm the best way to remove i have had a snoop on the forums but its mostly on LHD cars. On RHD cars how and from what side is the access to remove. Hopefully not to remove the glovebox  Cheers

Thanks for the reply. Ah yes I saw this one of the few on the net. Just a bit apprehensive about cutting the frame. There must be an easier way. i will let you know how i get on. I am hoping its just the resistors are dry jointed

Update. Job done  :happy2:
And what a difference. Warm air thro the vents within a minute. After looking it became apparent that you need to cut the dash(behind the glovebox) to get the heater out. on LHD its a piece of cake but RHD is different. As it turned out I didnt actually do the job myself but a friend although i did watch. Anyway basically as per the procedure listed earlier in the post by SI-R32. My aux heater did not have the dry joints so bought a second hand one on ebay. It was installed and then checked with VCDS fault code gone. Sweet!
