High level brake light
« on: January 13, 2016, 08:10:49 pm »
Hi
I need a new hi level brake light -where's best to find one?
Can only find one at £90ish on eBay. Anywhere else I should look?
Plenty regular golf ones but hardly any other GTI ones.

Cheers
Scott

Just break the old lense and pry out the unit.
I've done it a few years back on my 1st MK5 gti.

Yeh that's the one, just checking you weren't going to pry the spoiler off.  :signLOL: I spent ages trying to get a decent priced one of the bay, lost my rag in the end and went to tps.

Hey,
Mine went a few weeks back and I contacted this seller (Martyn) asking if he can source a GTI Version (1K6 945 097F). It's a non GTI in the listing but give him a shout he'll sort you out one from Germany at the same price. He's a helpful chap, plus received it within a few days.

Crack the old one out carefully, re install new one with a couple of dabs of silicone on the back to make sure it doesn't fall out. (It clips in but obviously you won't be able to screw in this one like the original was) solid as a rock now.
Oh and re direct your washer jet to the 2 o clock position.  :drinking:
