Anyone seen Mk7 R's coming off lease deals - Prices?
« on: January 09, 2016, 10:16:01 am »
OK, its a wet slippery winter - accept that what i need  is 4WD, not a stg 2 Ed30!

Being far too mean to waste any more cash on new cars, as I've probably been had for £10,000's over the years...
And also due to lots of "issues" with hire cars (businesss and hols), both myself and my employers have been screwed too often...
...most recently last summer in Greece (still trying to get some of my deposit back having been charged £400 for a wheel scuff on a VW up, and I had already renewed the tyre due to a "damaged side wall", caused by a random piece of angle iron projecting 100mm out of the kerb!),...
...am very wary of "leases" = rentals!

So, I have been keeping an eye out for used/nearly new Mk 7 R.
"Best" I've been offered was a £4k discount on a main stealers  ex demo with close to 8k (probably VERY hard) miles. NO thanks! Was also a low spec.

Where are all these lease cars going? Surely not yet in a container to West Africa?  :surprised:

Has anyone seen any sensibly depreciated cars coming off lease yet?

There's loads available on vw used site now. . . :happy2:

Leasers are usually red, with basic wheels and basic spec.

I'm interested in watching how the 7R prices vary - anyone got links which you could post to  educate me in this area?

7R prices are dropping steeply. I've seen high spec ones at under 27k.

By mid March this year the market will be flooded and you'll see DSG versions with nav for under £23k I reckon.
Golf R gone.
