GTI Center brake light
« on: January 17, 2016, 12:52:34 pm »
Hey

on my Mark 5 golf GTI, the center brake light stopped working, it wasn't slowly one LED at a time, they all went at once, but someone following me a few weeks ago said it was a bit dim, but still all working? was just wondering if there is a separate fuse for it worth checking? ive looked around and not been able to find much, or if it did just get dimmer would there be the chance of a connection issue? just trying to look at all other options before trying to rip it out or get the spoiler taken off! :(

thank in advance :P

(is a early 06 GTI)

Hey,
Mine went a few weeks back and I contacted this seller (Martyn) asking if he can source a GTI Version (1K6 945 097F). It's a non GTI in the listing but give him a shout he'll sort you out one from Germany at the same price. He's a helpful chap, plus received it within a few days.

Crack the old one out carefully, re install new one with a couple of dabs of silicone on the back to make sure it doesn't fall out. (It clips in but obviously you won't be able to screw in this one like the original was) solid as a rock now.
Oh and re direct your washer jet to the 2 o clock position.  :drinking:
