Electrical Fault

Hi All,

I run a 2009 Mk5 and have two weird electrical faults:

1. When I start the car I receive an error message (and headlight warning light on the left dial - speedo) that my front right main beam is not working - even though the headlight is working fine.

2. When I drive the GTI at night when the headlights are on if I put the main beam on, open or close a window, use the horn, turn the fog lights on there is a millisecond loss of power where everything cuts off. It is literally a millisecond but nevertheless it is unsettling and only happens when I am driving with the headlights on.

Anyone experienced these faults before and can advise on how to fix?

Many Thanks

Check wiring to the headlights. I assume they are Bi-Xenon, judging by your name and standard spec there?
